NATURE MORTE GALLERY PRESENTS AN ONLINE VIEWINGROOM BY MARTAND KHOSLA
Nature Morte is proud to present the second iteration of POSSIBLE WORLDS, conceptualized by Martand Khosla incollaboration with Reena Saini Kallat. The project builds further on the exhibition,Deep Rivers Run Quiet byKallat, which has been on view since November 2020 on the Nature Morte Viewing Room.
His works traverse the lines between sculpture and object, movement and remnant, material and memory. Inspired by his studies of repetition and the human churning of industrialization, he replicates the micro-processes of macro-construction. And simultaneously, he moves from the lens of authoritarian power to its dispersion, exploring the transformations that lay in between.
“I propose that the virtual space need not be a receptacle to a virtual built volume, butinstead be a site for ‘thought’.A space where physical representation of buildings do not exist. Only thoughts of buildings exist. This exhibition explores the cyber space and its parameters, and architecture for a site-less site.”-Martand Khosla
Nature Morte has invited artist and architect Martand Khosla to create a platform where he could collaborate with artists to create new types of spaces to display their artworks, untethered to reality, rationality, or rebuke. The results, we surmise, will be varied and curious, hopefully, jolting and incredulous as well.
POSSIBLE WORLD is available in the online viewing room on the Nature Morte website from January 30th,2021. A walk-through video of this project is available on request.
