Berlin’s most exclusive nightclub Berghain transforms into an Art Venue
Berghain, the iconic and exclusive nightclub in the German capital of Berlin remains shut for clubbers owing to the pandemic but a brand new exhibition will see the legendary club transform into a huge art venue. in partnership with Christian and Karen Boros of the Boros Foundation, the club is set to play host to a group show exhibition that will showcase artists living and working in Berlin.
The exhibition will be referred to as ‘Studio Berlin’ and will feature work across various disciplines including photography, sculpting, painting, video, sound, performance, and installation, produced in the city’s studios during the lockdown. Over 80 artists will feature in the new exhibition including well-known names and upcoming talent. Some of them are Olafur Eliasson, Wolfgang Tillmans,Anne Imhof and Christine Sun Kim.
The exhibition will be opening for public viewing from 9 September onward during the Berlin Art Week. Audience will be taking guided tours of the works spread across the sprawling 3,500 sq.m nightclub landscape. All proceeds of the ticket sales will go towards keeping Berghain going through lockdown.
