DESIGN SOLUTIONS CLOSE TO NATURE

Homi is a primary hub at Milano Design Week that focuses on trends that look at recycling materials and sustainability.

Homi is the European trade fair dedicated to furnishing accessories, decorations, tableware, textiles, essences and fragrances that characterize the spaces of contemporary living. It presents the many worlds we live in on ‘one big stage’, in the world capital of design, Milan. Homi has been defined as the house that is renewed and becomes a style to tell the trends of living.

The Salone Degli Stili di Vita, is the event that is dedicated to objects and accessories that animate the spaces of contemporary living. It will be ‘on stage’ or on display at Fiera Milano from 5 to 8 September in conjunction with the Supersalone, the special event-2021 of the Salone del Mobileand the Milan Design Week. It is Located in the Portello district in Milano, in the new urban hub Citylife, with the residential and commercial complex designed by architects Arata Isozaki, Daniel Libeskind and Zaha Hadid.

Italy is known as a point of reference for style, a superpower of beauty and talent in the creation of creative products made by skilled craftsmen who, with their stories and skills, inspire designers from all over the world. A value also from an economic point of view: Italian design is worth a third of the sector’s worldwide turnover.

The event reaffirms its vocation as a meeting place and opportunity for operators in the sector, a space for experimentation and creative contamination open to those who want to understand the evolution of habits and lifestyles, in Italy and in the world, discovering in advance the trends of home and living.

The event will certainly present a versatility considering the dynamism of a unique format designed specifically to enhance its richness and accompany the different types of visitors through experiential paths and special projects. It is an event full of novelties and discoveries, with a strong vocation to be made with a wide Italian and international artisan proposal. It will be providing a viewing space to the materials that have made craftsmanship great – from glass to ceramics, from wood to metal – but with that touch of innovation that will allow operators to discover unusual objects, coming from every part of the Italian territory, unique and unprecedented in their extraordinary proposal.

Here’s a quick glance at the brands that will be present at the event:

24 Bottles with reusable water bottles with Italian design, extra light in stainless steel that in the summer collection are enriched with new inspirations and new stylistic paths or Affari of Sweden with its timeless interior design collections.
Evviva invites viewers to new tableware and products that are inspired by enchanting locations and colors by Ilcar-Bugatti among the many novelties presented with the Jackie kettle and an iconic charm. Its shapes recall those of a couture bag. The Ichendorf Milano offers several new collections, in ‘borosilicate glass’ and handmade designs from colored vases to stylized jugs, up to the most varied forms of tumblers by designers of international caliber.

Homi will also host Il Giardino Segreto, which has always offered products that are fully Italian in their production, made with natural materials such as pure linen: with the I Personalizzati collection it makes napkins, towels, pillows, plaids or clutches that are unique.

The design festival will also be paying attention to other realities that are attentive to sustainability issues. Moss Design with plant paintings are all set to furnish any space with personality, taking advantage of the harmony of nature in all its shapes and colors. Rippotai is providing sustainable furnishing accessories such as the extra resistant, sustainable and fully recyclable cardboard screens. SoldiDesign with its Ovetto ABS line, presents its new designs, functional and sustainable object made of recycled plastic material, also equipped with a practical compactor for plastic bottles and cans to optimize space.

The Wild Spirit line releases the free and wild spirit through its black and white portrayal of tigers, leopards, zebras and giraffes.

Teraplast with the new Alterà collection presents furnishing accessories with a functional and original design, customizable in colors and finishes; Tessitura Toscana Telerie with Oasi offers hemp table sets.

Precious majolica and decorations with an evocative charm of the deepest Moroccan culture are instead the inspiration for Tile, one of the high-strength porcelain lines of Weissestal and Wally (1925) while Le Saline enhances the scents and fragrances for the home.

Noritake presents an elegant Trefolio Gold collection with a white and cream color, embellished with a decoration dotted with points of enamel in relief. Blueside, which through a design project created by the architect Simone Micheli, proposes a new line of vases, oliere and lanterns with their purity and transparency of the glass, it leads us back to the sea, to the wind, to the freedom that the Mediterranean offers.

The design fair offers innovative solutions, often close to nature and a new way of living in the house of the present and the future. It has been ensured that the Salone will take place in total safety welcoming exhibitors and visitors respecting the safe business protocol developed with a team of experts in relation to the health situation.
