RATHORE LAUNCHES HIS PRET LINE – RR BLUE

Raghavendra Rathore, the designer known for his sartorial bandhgalas and jodhpurees has diversified from his bespoke label to come out with a ready-to-wear (pret) line for men – RR Blue. The quintessential elements of the Rathore brand are stamped upon the affordable fashion range that is targeted at the millennial consumer who is fashion conscious.

Recently Tarun Tahiliani launched TASVA with the Aditya Birla group and Rahul Mishra launched his pret line for TATA and W Lifestyle.  The young and fashion-conscious market is what they are all aiming for.

Rathore made his immaculately tailored bandhgalas and jodhpuree breeches a staple for every dapper men’s wardrobe. The RR Blue line consists of capsule collections that embody the essence of the Raghavendra Rathore brand. The brand has a cool and sensual approach to menswear with a modern Indian aesthetic.

The key features of RR Blue and its varied themes are made in distinct forms. From surface treatments with a rustic feel to simplified motifs of the varied art forms and architectural symmetry in stylized geometrical patterns relay an iconoclastic appeal to the collection that makes it apt for a travel wardrobe”, explains Raghavendra Rathore. The RR Blue collection is thematised as:

RANTHAMBORE

As the name suggests, the capsule is an ode to the formidable Ranthambore fort. The architectural symmetry in and around the fort is adapted in the capsule in the form of stylized geometric accents.

MODERN PRINCE

This collection is inspired by a modern-day mogul who has a passion for vintage collectibles. The motifs are a mix and match of items like vases, perfume bottles, face mirrors recreating the royal vision with a contemporary twist.

ENTOMOLOGY

The intriguing world of insects and their varied species is the inspiration behind this capsule. The prints developed based on the anatomy and the colour vibrancy of the insect world reflects in this casual line, ideal for weekend dressing.

SHWETH AUR SHYAM

The monochrome tones are the highlight of this printed collection giving it its own unique quality. The prints are centered around a more linear yet modern pattern that transcends seasonal trends. These comfortable yet minimal silhouettes offer a stylish range.

MAORI

The traditional māori visual art that centers around primary art forms like weaving, carving, tattooing, and painting is what has helped visualise this capsule collection. The surface treatment is the key feature of this capsule that has a rustic feel about it.

RR Blue collection consists of a range of pieces made in cotton, cotton-silk blends, with beautiful prints, structured and unstructured clothing. Rathore has emphasized subtle accents in design-from exemplifying sharpness in cuts to asymmetrical long-short hemlines to reinvent Indian modern design. “Use of polyester and other polluting trims and materials is avoided consciously. The fabrics used have been to create a look that is presentable, yet not too formal conveying an image that is both dressed yet relaxed complementing the shades and moods of everyday life”, said Raghavendra Rathore.

Rathore’s new ready-to-wear label, RR Blue is available from all Raghavendra Rathore stores as well as online on the designer’s website. It’s a must browse for all fashionable men out there.
