TILFI BRINGS ROSE-TINTED HUES FOR THE SUMMER

Tilfi Banaras is a brand to reckon with when it comes to Banarasi weaves. The brand’s heritage designs and contemporary refinement is taken forward by its millennial founders – Udit Khanna, Aditi Chand and Ujjwal Khanna who have stuck to the know-how passed on through five generations. Tilfi has a flagship store in Benaras and is available online through their website. The brand today has a global presence.

Sooti by Tilfi

For the recently launched summer 2023, Tilfi draws inspiration from the age-old tradition of Banaras, usually observed after Holi: Gulab Bari. The celebration brings people together in white and pink attire to welcome Chaitra, the first month of the year in the Hindu calendar. With the Gulab Bari collection, Tilfi has honoured the timeless beauty of roses. Dyed in various shades of pink, the collection comprises sarees handwoven in pure georgette silk, suitable for all seasons. Adorned with ombrés and brush painted shades, the collection embraces the pink and ivory colour palettes. The vines of roses are embellished with intricate golden and silver zari work on the borders of the sarees. Scalloped borders and cutwork style enhance the beauty of lightweight georgette silk sarees and are great for the summers.

Satin Silk by Tilfi

Tilfi has introduced the Satin Edit as a part of its Summer 2023  collection. As the name suggests, this edit consists of pure satin silk sarees, suits and lehenga sets. Satin fabric flows well and drapes neatly on the body. The Satin Edit contrasts deep hues, light shades and ombrés with all-over booti patterns, ideal for the summer evenings. The bejewelled borders embellished with Meenakari work brighten up the rich Banarasi sarees. The suits, dupattas and blouses are intricately embroidered with bells or the floral vines. Pearl and cut-dana beads are encrusted on soft satin and sheer organza to create a three-dimensional effect. The salwar-suit, anarkali, and lehenga sets in the collection are embellished with tone-on-tone handwoven patterns and intricate embroidery in  varied geometric shapes and dots. Sheer organza lace dupattas complete the ensembles in rose and off-white hues.

Spring Pairing by Tilfi

With new additions to its Summer Pairings collection, Tilfi marks the release of its first capsule of menswear attire alongside feminine silhouettes. The collection features Monga silk sadri jackets, bandhgalas, and full-sleeved long jackets for men where cuts are juxtaposed with symmetry and asymmetry. The garments are adorned with handwoven patterns reminiscent of the blue pottery of Khurja and Multan. They can be paired with Chanderi silk kurtas subtly hand-embroidered for texturisation.
