Abloh was a visionary and sheer ingenious. He paved the way for gen-x and abridged the international world of fashion, art and design. From Marcel Duchamp to Damien Hirst,  here are a few of his art collabs that shook the art world.

1) VIRGIL ABLOH x MURAKAMI

2) VIRGIL ABLOH x MARCEL DUCHAMP

Marcel Duchamp’s 100th anniversary of his famous porcelain known as Fontana  was celebrated by Virgil Abloh with a hoodie. The work, presented by Duchamp under the pseudonym “R. Mutt.” Duchamp further inspired Abloh’s collection for off-white.

3) VIRGIL ABLOH X DAMIEN HIRST & TETSUZO OKUBO

A collection of one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces created by Damien Hirst and Tetsuzo Okubo in collaboration with Virgil Abloh.

4) VIRGIL ABLOH x JAY Z and KANYE WEST

The artwork led to Abloh securing his first Grammy nomination for Best Recording Package.

5) VIRGIL x ASAP ROCKY

Abloh was also credited as a creative director in the credits of ASAP Rocky’s debut album, Long.Live.ASAP.

6) VIRGIL ABLOH x KANYE WEST

Yeezus is likely the most iconic album cover Abloh worked on. According to the Figures of Speech book, 10 different designers helped make the cover.

Yeezus is one of the most iconic album covers by Abloh. Figures of Speech book mentioned 10 different designers who contributed to the making of the cover, and George Condo sent in a sculpture.

7) VIRGIL ABLOH x OCTAVIAN

Octavian is a British rapper who has consecutively appeared in Louis Vuitton’s runway shows and campaigns. Abloh even built statues of Octavian to display inside his Louis Vuitton store in Los Angeles.

.8) VIRGIL ABLOH x FUTURA

This iconic collaboration of Virgil Abloh with street artist Futura gained everyone’s attention. It was a capsule collection where each piece was autographed by the artist.
